Linear Matrix LED Backlit Linkable Modules

Architectural LED Backlight Modules – Melbourne, Sydney & Australia-Wide

Linear Matrix LED Backlight Linkable Modules are a high-performance architectural backlighting solution, engineered to deliver consistent, uniform illumination across a broad range of translucent materials including natural stone, quartzite, onyx, engineered solid surfaces, acrylics, glass and resin-based surfaces.

Designed for demanding architectural and commercial applications, the modular system provides designers with the flexibility to create illuminated surfaces of virtually any scale or configuration, while maintaining an even and controlled lighting effect across the translucent materials.

By positioning the light source behind the selected translucent surface, Linear Matrix backlighting modules reveal the material’s natural depth, veining, texture and colour transforming stone and decorative surfaces into an integrated architectural lighting feature.

Uniform Illumination

The Linear Matrix backlighting modular platform has been developed to provide consistent light distribution across the illuminated surface, helping minimise visible hot spots, shadowing and variations in brightness.

This makes the system particularly suited to architectural applications where the quality of illumination is as important as the material itself.

Applications include:

  • Backlit natural stone and quartzite

  • Onyx feature walls

  • Kitchen island and bench fronts

  • Splashbacks

  • Reception counters

  • Bar and hospitality features

  • Illuminated wall panels

  • Ceilings and overhead features

  • Decorative glazing

  • Architectural windows and feature panels

Designed for Architectural Integration

Our linkable modular format allows the lighting system to be configured around the dimensions and characteristics of each project, providing architects, interior designers and lighting designers with greater freedom when incorporating illuminated materials into the built environment.

Modules can be integrated within joinery, wall systems, ceilings and custom architectural details to create a clean, concealed lighting installation where the illuminated material remains the visual focus.

A range of colour temperature and colour-control options are available, allowing the lighting solution to be selected according to the material, interior palette and intended visual effect.

Commercial-Grade Reliability

Linear Matrix LED Backlight Modules are engineered for demanding residential, hospitality, retail and commercial environments where reliability and long operating hours are critical.

The system is supported by an 8-year commercial-grade warranty, including applications designed for continuous 24-hour, 7-day operation, providing architects, consultants and project teams with additional confidence when specifying Linear Matrix for long-term architectural installations.

The modular construction also provides a practical and serviceable approach to large-format illuminated surfaces, supporting both design flexibility and long-term system performance.

Enhancing the Material, Not Competing with It

Effective architectural backlighting should complement the material rather than overpower it. The Linear Matrix backlighting system are designed to create a controlled and uniform field of light that enhances translucency, accentuates natural veining and reveals characteristics that may otherwise remain unseen.

From a single illuminated kitchen island to extensive commercial feature walls and ceilings, the system allows translucent materials to become an integral part of the lighting and architectural design.

Available for projects in Melbourne, Sydney and throughout Australia, Linear Matrix works with architects, interior designers, lighting designers, builders, joiners and stone specialists to develop customised backlighting solutions suited to the requirements of each project.

Specify Linear Matrix for architectural backlighting where uniformity, flexibility, performance and long-term commercial reliability are essential.

Single Colour White - Backlighting Module

(6000k Pure White or 3000k Warm White)

Model: LM-SL600PW & LM-DL600PW or LM-SL600WW & LM-DL600WW

This LED module is available in two color temperatures: pure white (6000K) and warm white (3000K) and is designed for consistent illumination of any space.

The pure white light offers high color rendering, providing vivid and crisp illumination that accentuates and enriches the color of the material being backlit.

On the other hand, the warm white light provides a softer, warmer, and smoother ambiance, altering the atmosphere of the room and the material being illuminated.

Each panel is 600mm x 580mm x 2.5mm in dimension and requires a distance between 10mm and 50mm from the back of the stone. This is based on 20mm Translucent Natural Stone and materials testing prior to specification.

Additionally, dimming controls can be integrated into the module at an extra cost to enable standalone or automated brightness control, enhancing its versatility.

Circadian Rhythm - Tunable White - Backlighting Module

(6500k pure white to 2700k warm white)

Model: LM-SL600CCTW & LM-DL270CCTW

The Circadian Rhythm tunable white LED module offers dynamic white light ranging from 2700k warm white to 6500k pure white, allowing for versatile illumination to simulate sunrise, midday, and sunset.

The module comes in 600 x 580 x 2.5mm and 270 x 24 x 2.5mm sizes and requires a distance between 10mm and 50mm from the back of the stone. This is based on 20mm Translucent Natural Stone and materials testing prior to specification.

The module can be integrated with automated or standalone color and dimming controls to enable color temperature adjustment and illumination scheduling.

Full Colour - Backlighting Module

RGBW 4 Colour (Red/Blue/Green/White 6500k)

Model: LM-SL600RGBW & LM-DL600RGBW

Red, blue, green and white are combined in this LED module to create any colour within the RGB spectrum, with the additional functionality of a pure white channel, for crisp, bright white light.

This versatile backlighting panel can provide a range of colours that will complement any backlighting project.

Colour & dimming controls are integrated into the system, so end users can adjust the colour output and brightness to create and change the mood of any space these panels are used in.

Sizes of 600 x 580 x 2.5mm and 580 x 24 x 2.5mm are available.

RGBW panels require a distance between 25mm and 75mm from the back of the stone. This is based on 20mm Translucent Natural Stone and materials testing prior to specification.
